The Doan Foundation, in collaboration with Collective Freedom and BLVCK LOTVS TATTOO, proudly launches The Fresh Start Initiative — a tattoo cover-up program for system-impacted and deported individuals across Southern California.
Many people are being detained longer or placed at risk because of the tattoos they carry — symbols of identity, pride, or survival — that are now being misinterpreted by foreign governments as political threats or criminal affiliation.
This initiative offers:
• Free or low-cost tattoo cover-ups
• Trauma-informed consultations
• Priority for deportation-facing or formerly incarcerated individuals
Eligibility:
• Must reside in Southern California
• Facing deportation, have a removal order, or fear being targeted due to visible tattoos
• Clear photo of tattoo required for evaluation
Availability is limited, but we are committed to helping as many individuals as possible. Urgent cases will be prioritized.
